Angelita Rivera

Angelita Rivera, 88, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side on Sunday, August 3, 2025. Angelita was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on February 10, 1937, a daughter of the late Jesús Rivera and the late Tomasa Martínez, and had lived there for more than forty years, and in New Haven for forty one years, including the past twenty one. She was a seamstress in Puerto Rico for more than eighteen years, retiring in 2002.

Angelita is survived by five daughters, Vidalina Rodríguez of Mesa, AZ, Tomasita Rodríguez and Veronica Rodríguez of New Haven, Maria (Carlos Santiago) Rodríguez of East Haven and Nancy (José) Rodríguez of Las Piedras, PR, three sons, Amado Rodríguez of New London, Wilfredo (Maria) Rodríguez of Orlando, FL and Erick Rodríguez of Dallas, TX, twenty one grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by two sisters, Gladiz and Matilde Rivera and two brothers, Carlos and Miguel Rivera.

Angelita's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, August 8th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
