Angel Santiago Muriel, 96, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 1, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Sergia Burgos Felix. Angel was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on July 17, 1927, a son of the late Eulogio Santiago and the late Obdulia Muriel, and had resided in Yabucoa for most of his life before moving to New Haven in 1999. While living in Yabucoa, he worked at Corporación Sucrerera de Puerto Rico for fifty years, retiring in 1998. Angel was a member of Iglesia Manatial de Vida of New Haven. Angel i survived by two daughters, Ruth (Fernando) Pascual and Nelba Santiago of New Haven, three sons, José M. (Julia Ortíz) Burgos of Ashburn, VA, Luís A. (Maria Terrán) Santiago of New Haven and Edwin (Damaris) Santiago of Fayetteville, NC, twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by four sisters, Juanita, Lucrecia, Eduarda and Eulogia Santiago. Angel's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, February 6th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Iglesia Manatial de Vida, 855 Grand Ave., New Haven. A funeral service will take place at the church on Wednesday, February 7th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
