Angel Luís Miranda, 85, of Hamden, CT, formerly of New Haven, CT died peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Hamden Healthcare Facility. Angel was born in Añasco, Puerto Rico on August 23, 1937, a son of the late Cecilio Miranda and the late Mercedes Martínez. He had lived in New Haven for more than fifty years, previously in New York City for several years, before moving to Hamden in 2016. Angel was a vocational counselor for Easter Seals for over thirty years, retiring in 1994. He was hard working, and a master of all trades. He was dedicated and loving to his family and friends. Angel helped so many people and was truly loved. He is survived by two daughters, Ely Rose (Isoel Arzola) Miranda of Orlando, FL and Noemi (Mark A. Foreman, Sr.) Miranda Foreman of Hamden, one son, Angel C. (Jennifer) Miranda, Jr. of Orlando, nine grandchildren, including Mark Anthony Foreman, II, many great grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Miriam Miranda, a son, José L. Miranda, three sisters, Rosa Miranda Wagner, Carmen Miranda Williams and Josefina “Chefa” Rivera, and a brother, Miguel Miranda. Angel’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, July 22nd from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
