Angel Antonio González

Angel Antonio González, 88, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Luz Miriam Afanador González. Angel was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on June 13, 1935, a son of the late Pablo González and the late Bernabela Cordero, and had resided in Vineland, NJ for eleven years before moving to New Haven in 1981. He was a machinist for Green Giant in Norma, NJ for eleven years, and later worked for Milford Products until his retirement in 1982. Besides his wife Luz, Angel is survived by four daughters, Noemi Hale of New Jersey and Vanessa Vázquez, Cynthia (Miguel) Ramírez and Lisa (Gabriel) Solomine of New Haven, six sons, Eduardo (Gladys) González, Anthony (Bernice) González and Gary (Laurie) García of New Jersey, Alberto (Noemi) González of Puerto Rico, Hector (Lorraine) González of North Carolina and Orlando Afanador-González of New Haven, two sisters, Minerva Rivera of New Jersey and Hilda Ortíz of Puerto Rico, twenty five grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two sisters, Angelica González Cortez and Lali Ortíz, and one brother, Salvádor Ortíz. Angel's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 19th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
