Angel Luís Báez, 62 of West Haven died suddenly at his home on Sunday, July 26, 2020. He was the beloved husband of seventeen years to Mary Dely Salvatierra Báez. Angel was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on November 8, 1957, a son of the late Rojelio Báez and the late Carmen Iris Cintrón. He moved from Ponce to New York City where he resided for seventeen years, before moving to New Haven where he had lived for many years before moving to West Haven sixteen years ago. Angel was a machinist for Olympic Steel, Milford for many years and had also worked at other manufacturing plants until his retirement in 2012 due to illness. He continued to work along with his wife Mary in the daycare center which they ran from their home. Angel is also survived by two daughters, Maria (Jeremy) Báez Burnett and Cynthia Báez of New Haven, three sisters, Eva Maria (Andres) Báez Feliciano of Ponce, Marisol (Jonas) Rodríguez of New Haven and Madeline (Gilberto) Cintrón Lugo of East Haven, four brothers, Edwin (Magda) Báez of New Haven, and Samuel (Lisa) Báez and Ramón Báez of East Haven, and Osvaldo Reyes of New York City, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Rojelio Báez, Jr. Angel's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
