Andrea Paola Baquero

Andrea Paola Baquero, 33, of New Haven, CT formerly of East Haven, CT died suddenly at Yale-New Haven Hospital, York St. Campus on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident earlier that day. Andrea was born in Bogotá, Colombia on June 27, 1991, a daughter of Maribel Carrascal of New Haven and Luigi Baquero of Queens, NY. She came to the U.S. in 1997 and resided in New Haven for eleven years before moving to East Haven in 2008, returning to New Haven this past year. Andrea was a 2008 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School, and received her Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Bridgeport in 2021. She was employed as a dental hygienist with Advanced Dental of Wallingford at the time of her death, and was previously employed at Cloverleaf Dental in Meriden for several years.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her daughters, Daniela Rivera and Gianna Velázquez, step-father Guillermo Vázquez of New Haven, grandmother Nancy Vanegas, brother Guillermo (Amaya) Vázquez, all of New Haven, sister Camila Baquero of Queens and aunt and uncles Erika (Galo Rodríguez) Madariaga of North Haven and Camilo Madariaga of New Haven, and the father of her children Bernie Velázquez.

Andrea's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 16th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place during visitation time. Burial will be private. washingtonmemorialfh.com
