Ana Luz (Nieves) Meléndez

Ana Luz Meléndez, 86, of New Haven died suddenly at her home on Monday, August 29, 2022. Luz was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on July 20, 1936, a daughter of the late Antolino Nieves and the late Margarita Miranda, and had resided in New Haven since 1952. She was a member of the East Shore Senior Center and a parishioner of St. Anthony Church. She is survived by one daughter, Daisy Jiménez of New Haven, two sons, Peter (Carolyn) Meléndez of LeHigh Acres, FL and Norman Meléndez of West Haven, two sisters, Laura (Adam) González of Orlando, FL and Sandra Rodríguez of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, eleven grandchildren, and many great-grand and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter Evelyn Meléndez, a brother, José Nieves, and a grandson, Emanuel Fontañez. Ana's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, September 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
