Aida Rivera Obituary

Aida Rivera, 59, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. Aida was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on February 17, 1965, a daughter of the late Celestino Rivera and the late Aida Marrero, and had resided in New Haven for more than thirty years. She worked in the housekeeping department at La Quinta Hotel, New Haven for several years, and had previously worked for Courtyard Marriott, Orange. She was also a program director at Radio Amor, New Haven for fifteen years. Aida is survived by two daughters, Aida Luz Rivera of San Juan, PR and Johanna Reyes-Rivera of New Haven, three sisters, Luz Maria Rivera and Daisy (Dario) Rivera of New Haven and Doris Rivera of Milwaukee, WI, two brothers, Gabriel Rivera of San Juan and Feliciano Rivera of Carolina, PR, six grandchildren, Caida Díaz Rivera, Ashely and Luís Pérez, Jovan Miguel James, Ivan Miguel Hernández and Messiah Rey Morrales, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by three brothers, Gaspar, Hipolito and Rafael Rivera. Aida's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 15th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Una Iglesia Para La Ciudad, 99 East Pearl St., New Haven. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 769 Ella T. Grasso Blvd., New Haven.
