Aida Iris Crespo Montañez, 61 of New Haven died peacefully on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Carlos González. Aida was born in Chicago, IL on September 3, 1959, a daughter of the late Domingo Crespo and the late Francisca Montañez, and had resided in New Haven for the past forty one years. She worked as a social worker for the State of Connecticut, Department of Social Services for many years and was also a bus driver for New Haven public schools. In addition to her husband, Aida is survived by two daughters, Ayesha Y. Rojas of Wallingford and Yesca Y. Rojas of New Haven, one sister, Rosa Maria Crespo of Puerto Rico, two brothers, Rafael Crespo of Vega Alta, PR and Angel "Pepito" Crespo of New York City, five grandchildren, Pedro M. Rodríguez, Diasha F. Gillan, Martin F. Hall-Rojas, Jasmin Lugo and Eduardo Lugo, one great-grandson, Jaiden J. Lugo, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cristalee González, a son, José E. Lugo, and a brother, Rafael Angel Lugo. Aida's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 29th from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
