Victor Manuel Rivera Rivera García

Victor Manuel Rivera Garcia, 76 of New Haven died peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Ana Colón Rivera. Victor was born in Maunabo, Puerto Rico on February 11, 1943, a son of the late Pedro and Asunción Rivera and had resided in New Haven for the past sixty years. He was a warehouse worker for H. Krevit Co. of Hamden for more than ten years, retiring in 1996. Victor was an avid softball player, and played in several leagues throughout the New Haven area for many years. In addition to his wife, Victor is survived by three daughters, Ana J. (Roggie) Vazquez of Cheshire, Tamara Torres of Hamden and Jessica Rivera of New Haven, three sons, Rodney Rivera of New Haven, Michael A. Rivera of Hamden and Pedro J. Tores of Naguabo, Puerto Rico, one sister, Hilda L. Rivera of New Haven, six brothers, Pedro J. Rivera of Buffalo, NY, Wilson, Frank and Efrain Rivera of New Haven, and Carlos and Tony Rivera of Florida, twenty grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Victor's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, June 24th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., the Rev. Francis Snell officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
