Shanna Peán, AKA Marie Jose Pean, 71 of Richford, VT, formerly of Burlington, VT and Plattsburgh, NY died peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at t McClure-Miller VNA Respite House in Colchester, VT with her loving family by her side. Shanna was born in Cap-Haiti, Haiti on May 21, 1948, a daughter of the late Lecas Taylor Pean and the late Celine Gaboton. Shanna came to the United States from Haiti in 1970, and lived in Miami for a short time before moving to Brooklyn, NY in 1972. She later lived in Stamford, CT for several years, Burlington, VT for five years, and Plattsburgh, NY for fifteen years before moving to Richford, VT where she had lived for the past twelve years. Shanna was a retired accounting clerk. She is survived by one daughter, Janice (Hazim) Tawfiq of Harlem, NY, two sons, Henry Barlatier of Irvington, NJ and Boris Celine Barlatier of Newark, NJ, four sisters, Marie-Milone Peán of Kendall, FL, Marie-Ginette (Pratt) Memnon of Brentwood, NY, Marie-Mona Dominique of Montreal, Canada and Jessie (Thomas) Losseau of Sevigny, Frnnce, four brothers, Francois (Fernande)Pean of Port St. Lucie, FL, Edouard Pean of Montreal, Luis Elie (Maryse) Pean of North Haven and Carl Leslie (Elizabeth) Pean of Deltona, FL, five grandchildren, Gabrielle and Abraham Barlatier, Isaac Abraham, and Noah and Nuri Tawfiq, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Alix Pean. Shanna’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 12th from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish, St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Ave., North Haven. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, New Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
