Ryan Daniel Cortes

Ryan Daniel Cortes, 27 of New Haven died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Ryan was born in New Haven on April 19, 1992, a son of Amy Van Alstyne of New Haven and the late Wilfredo Cortes, Jr., and was a lifelong New Haven resident. Ryan attended Riverside High School of New Haven and was a painting contractor. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Caitlin Willis of New Haven, two brothers, Wilfredo Cortes, III of Middletown and Jordan Willis of Columbia, SC, his paternal grandparents, Wilfredo Cortes, Sr. and Norma Albarrán of Utuado, Puerto Rico, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert Jarrett and Donna Van Alstyne. Ryan's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 12th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home during the calling hours.
