Ross Israel Sher

Ross Israel Sher, 85 of East Haven, formerly of Milford died peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Margaret DeGraff Sher. Ross was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on May 30, 1934, a son of the late Nathan and Eva Sher. He had resided in Milford for most of his life before moving to East Haven twenty one years ago. Ross worked for Dupont Chemical Co. of Fairfield for twenty four years, and then worked for the City of Milford, Board of Education for twenty five years until retiring in1998. He was a proud Korean War Navy Veteran. In addition to his wife Margaret, Ross is survived by five sons, Nathan Sher of East Haven, Charles (Dina) Sher of Hot Springs, AR, Jonathan Sher of Bridgeport, Richard (Nickie) Sher of Branford and James (Angie) Sher of Albany, NY. He is also survived by Christopher and Stephanie Pitcher of West Haven and Melissa James Pitcher of Milford, sixteen grandchildren, including Dorothy, Deziree and Richard, Jr., and one great granddaughter. He was predeceased by two daughters, Nancy DeColti Sher and Kimberly Payne Sher, and two brothers, Sheldon Sher and Ronald Donaldson.
