Paula (Santiago Sanchez) Rodriguez

Paula Santiago Sanchez Rodriguez, 91 of New Haven died peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Alberto Rodriguez. Paula was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico on April 29, 1928, a daughter of the late Placido Santiago and the late Serafina Sanchez. She had resided in New Haven for the past thirty nine years, and had previously resided in Brooklyn, NY and Manhattan for a total of twenty years. Paula is survived by four daughters, Gloria Galarza of Sanford, FL, Hilda and Paulita Rodriguez of Derby, and Carmen Rodriguez of New Haven, twenty one grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Isabel Torres and Myrna Rodriguez, four sons, Anthony, Carlos, Jorge and Richie Rodriguez, two sisters and two brothers. Paula's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at he funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
