Nicolas Alberto Yordan, 90 of Hamden, formerly of Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico died peacefully at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosa Rodriguez. Nicolas was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on September 2, 1929, a son of the late Nicolas Yordan Jordan and the late Octavia Baéz. He had lived in Rio Piedras for most of his, and resided in Jacksonville, FL for six months before moving to Hamden three months ago. Nicolas was a payroll clerk for Navieres de Puerto Rico Maritime Shipping Co. of Rio Piedras for more than forty years retiring twenty five years ago. He is survived by one daughter, Carmen R. Yordan and her husband Rafael Almonte of Hamden, three sons, Alberto (Diana) Yordan of St. Louis, Missouri, Roberto (Sulane) Yordan of Miami, FL and Luís A. (Acelia) Yordan of Jacksonville, one sister Carmen Yordan of Guaynabo, PR, one brother, Carlos Yordan of Sarasota, FL, five grandchildren, Michael and Lorraine Yordan, Karla Alejandra Yordan, Lyann Michelle Yordan and Joann Anglada, several great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Jorge Yordan.
