Nathan "Nate" Gaetano Marinuzzi, 86 of Cheshire, formerly of East Haven died peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Yale-New Haven Hospital-St. Raphael Campus with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of sixty years to Dorothy A. Levenduski Marinuzzi. Nate was born in Hamden on April 21, 1933, a son of the late Philip and Lucy LaSalle Marinuzzi. He had resided in East Haven for forty years before moving to Cheshire seven years ago. Nate was a plumber for several years in the 1960's for Hamden Plumbing, and then worked for Armstrong Rubber Co., West Haven throughout the 1970's. He last worked for the East Haven School System for over ten years, retiring in 1998. Nate was a member of the former Hamden Italian-American Club of Hamden, and an avid bowler who participated in many Hamden leagues. He loved the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, was a fan of Frank Sinatra, and was a proud Korean War Army Veteran. In addition to his wife, Nate is survived by two daughters, Denise Palluoto and her husband Dr. Eric Palluotto of Cheshire and Natalie Marinuzzi and her husband Paul Albino of Hebron, one son, Nathan Lawrence Marinuzzi and his life partner Heidi Bonanno of East Haven, and five grandchildren, Colby and Nathan Mase, William and Lauren Palluotto and Nicholas Albino. He was predeceased by four sisters, Carmel Iezzi, Antoinette and Elizabeth Marinuzzi and Grace Santoro, and one brother, John Marinuzzi. There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to join Nate's family on Saturday, October 19th for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bridget of Sweden Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Military honors will take place outside the church following Mass. Burial will be private.
