Marieann Steir

Marieann Idone Steir, 77 of North Haven died peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of fifty six years to Paul F. Steir. Marie was born in New Haven on May 11, 1938, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Mocco Idone, and was a lifelong North Haven resident. Marie was a school bus monitor for the Town of North Haven, Board of Education for the past thirteen years. She had also worked for the former Straus Adler Co. of New Haven for twenty years. In addition to her husband, Marie is survived by a daughter, Deborah A. Steir, a son, Paul F. Steir, III of North Haven, one brother, Joseph Idone and his wife Carol of Prescott, AZ, and two grandchildren, Jaime Michaels and Kyle Bruneau of Florida.

Marieann's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions in Marie's name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
