Loretta Merlino Obituary

Loretta J. Lampo Merlino, 88 of Hamden, formerly of Cheshire died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Loretta was born in New Haven on October 9, 1931, a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Parlato Lampo and had resided in Cheshire for most of her life before moving to Hamden in 1991. Loretta was a Registered Nurse and had worked at several area hospitals as well as private duty for more than eighteen years, retiring in 2004. She was a devoted parishioner and Minister of the Eucharist at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden. Loretta is survived by her son Ernest Merlino and his wife Linda of East Hampton, one sister, Dolores Donle of Northford, two grandchildren, Christopher and Krystal Rosado of Florida, and her cousins Gloria and Nicholas Bua, and Linda and Dick Parlata of Hamden. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Lampo. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. Relatives and friends are invited to join Loretta’s family at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Monday, November 18th for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
