Loida Lopez, 72 of New Haven died suddenly at her home on Saturday, November 30, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Bienvenido Lopez. Loida was born in Hatillo, Puerto Rico on March 24, 1947, a daughter of the late Domingo Medero and the late Maria Rodriguez, and had resided in New Haven for the past fifty two years. She was a long-time member of Iglesia Cristiana Puerta de Salvación (Door of Salvation Christian Church), New Haven. In addition to her husband, Loida is survived by one daughter, Rosamina Lopez Medero of New Haven, four sons, Francisco (Jacqueline) Lopez of Tampa, FL, Rev. Eliezer (Eunice) Lopez of Newark, DE, Jason (Jessica) Lopez of Middletown and Amos (Maria Baez) of New Haven, three sisters, Aida (Elvin Flores) Medero of Hatillo, Hilcia (Raul) Roman of New Haven and Abigail Medero of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and eight grandchildren. Loida's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 5th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.at Iglesia Cristiana Puerta de Salvación, 3 Arch St., New Haven. A funeral service will take place at the church on Friday, December 6th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
