Eugenia Vigil, 71 of New Haven died peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 18, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Eugenia was born in Langue, Honduras on September 12, 1947, a daughter of the late Roberto Vigil and the late Juana Euceda. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1985 and lived in Houston, TX for five years before moving to New Haven twenty nine years ago. Eugenia worked in Housekeeping for the former Holiday Inn of North Haven for twelve years, retiring in 2005. She was a longtime member of CCRN Church of New Haven. She is survived by her daughter-in law, Lourdes Herrera of New Haven, three grandchildren, Nelson Herrera, Jr. of Progreso, Honduras, and Jorge Luís (Catiria) Herrera and Lonnie Herrera of New Haven, three brothers, Norberto Vigil and Modesto Euceda of Progreso, and Mario Euceda of Miami, FL, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by three sons, Nelson Herrera, German Herrera, and Israel Canales, and a sister, Tomasa Vigil. Eugnia's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 19th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, July 20th at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
