Carolina T. Lara Salmerón, 60 of East Haven died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford on Sunday, September 29, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Carolina was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on August 31, 1959, a daughter of Dolores Mendoza of Guayaquil and the late Alfonso Vidal Lara. She had resided in East Haven since 1995. Carolina worked for several area manufacturing firms for a total of twenty years, retiring twelve years ago due to her illness. In addition to her mother, Carolina is survived by a daughter, Andrea N. Salmerón and her husband Victor Olaya of East Haven, a son, Freddy A. Salmerón and his wife Evelyn León of New Haven, five sisters, Beatriz Lara, Laura Vélez and Maria Lara of Guayaquil, Victoria Lara of New York City and Julia Lara Medina and her husband Jorge Medina of Central Islip, NY, three brothers, Ramón, Francisco and Alfonso Lara of Guayaquil, four grandchildren, Gianella and Leonardo Olaya of East Haven and Allyson and Alejandro Salmerón of New Haven, and her former husband Freddy H. Salmerón. Carolina's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, October 3rd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Friday, October 4th at 9;15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10;00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 70 Washington Ave., New Haven Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
