Memorial Funeral Director

John Iacobucci

John Iacobucci John Iacobucci was born in New Haven, but grew up in Hamden and graduated from Hamden High School in 1978. He was raised in a traditional Italian household where learning to speak Italian was easy as it was spoken daily.

During these years, he also learned Portuguese and Spanish thru the assistance of his dear friend, the late Reverend Joseph T. Ryan, who served as pastor of Saint John the Evangelist Parish and St. Peter's Church of New Haven. After high school graduation, he attended the American Academy - McAllister Institute of Funeral Services in New York City.

In 1994 he embarked upon a journey of creating the current Washington Memorial Funeral Home and bring his vision of a beautiful funeral home to reality. During these years, he also added Portuguese to his repertoire of languages, improving his knowledge of the language with extended trips to Brazil. His grasp of these languages has helped many families plan the a thoughtful and comforting funeral service in spite of the fact that English is not their first language.
